What kind of engine do you have?

→ Outboard motor repair
Two-stroke and four-stroke outboards of every size, from a 9.9 kicker to a 300hp offshore motor.

→ Inboard & sterndrive repair
Gas inboards, V-drives and I/O outdrives — the work most mobile techs turn down.

→ Jet boat & jet drive repair
Jet pumps, wear rings and intake damage. A different discipline from a prop-driven motor.

→ Marine diesel repair
Auxiliaries and inboard diesels — hard starting, smoke, cooling and scheduled service.

Not sure which you have? Call and describe the boat. We'll work it out in about thirty seconds.

Boat broken right now?

How it works

1. Tell us what it's doing. Call or send the form. Describe the symptom, the motor and where the boat is sitting. A lot of problems get narrowed down on the phone before anyone drives anywhere.

2. We come to the boat. Slip, lift, driveway, storage lot or ramp — see the service area. The boat doesn't move.

3. Diagnose, then quote. You get the actual finding and a price before work starts. Our rates are published — no quote-by-appointment.

4. Repaired on site, usually same visit. The van carries common parts and fluids. The jobs that genuinely need a bench get flagged upfront, not halfway through.

Why owners call us instead of driving to a shop

There aren't many boat shops on this side of the river. Most of the capacity is over in Longview and Cowlitz County, which means Columbia County owners have been driving further than they should for routine work. We're here, and we come to you.

Your boat stays where it is. No trailering, no waiting for a slot in someone's queue. Some of our customers never touch their trailer at all — they walk down to the dock and the boat's ready for the season.

Factory-trained, and honest about it. MasterCraft factory school in Tennessee, Volvo Penta factory school, and around fifteen years across four Oregon boat shops. Both certifications have lapsed and we'll tell you why rather than pretend otherwise.

You get a person, not a service desk. The same person diagnoses it, fixes it and answers the phone next time.

We'll turn work down rather than do it badly. We don't do fibreglass or aluminium welding yet, and we'll say so instead of learning on your boat.

Published pricing. Hourly rate, call-out fee and flat-rate ranges are all on the pricing page. You'll know roughly what you're in for before we arrive.

Licensed, insured and welcome at moorages. CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSE # and $XM liability — the paperwork marinas ask for before letting anyone work on the dock.

Work is warranted. WARRANTY TERMS — e.g. "12 months on labour, manufacturer's terms on parts."

Where we work

Columbia County is home ground — St. Helens · Scappoose · Rainier · Clatskanie · Warren · Deer Island · Vernonia

Also covered — Portland, Sauvie Island and the Multnomah Channel · Oregon City · Longview and Kelso across the river

On the water — the Columbia from Scappoose Bay up past Clatskanie, the Multnomah Channel, the lower Willamette, and Hagg Lake.

If you're on the Washington side: there are more shops over there, but Oregon has no sales tax — and on a boat job where parts are most of the bill, that's real money. Worth comparing the total.

Frequently asked questions

Do you actually come to my boat, or do I bring it to you?
We come to you. Nearly all work happens at your slip, lift, driveway or storage lot anywhere in the service area. More on how on-site service works.

How fast can you get here?
SAME-DAY / NEXT-DAY / TYPICAL LEAD TIME for most of the metro, and we prioritise anything that's left someone stranded or overheating. Call PHONE and we'll tell you honestly rather than book you and hope.

What does boat motor repair cost around Portland?
Our hourly rate, call-out fee and flat-rate pricing for common jobs are published on the pricing page — we don't hide rates behind a quote form.

Do you work on inboards and sterndrives, or just outboards?
Both, plus jet drives and marine diesel. Inboard and sterndrive work is a large part of what we do and it's the category most mobile techs won't take.

Will you work on an older motor?
Yes. Two-strokes and vintage outboards are some of our favourite work, and parts availability is better than most owners assume.

Can you service my boat at a marina or moorage?
Yes — we're licensed and insured to the standard Portland-area moorages require. MENTION SPECIFIC MOORAGES ONCE YOU HAVE RELATIONSHIPS THERE.

My boat won't start — is that something you can diagnose over the phone?
Often we can narrow it down before dispatching. Start with the no-start guide, then call.
